Wardrobe by Me Trudy Turtleneck

I just tested the new Wardrobe by Me Trudy Turtleneck (affiliate links) (I received the pattern for free in exchange for testing, but all opinions are my own).  This is a super fast sew, it definitely takes longer to print and assemble the pattern and cut the fabric than it does to sew.  I made two during the testing window.  If you need any help while sewing you can get help in her Facebook Group.

The pattern features:
Sleeveless, Short, 1/2, 3/4, and Long Sleeves
Short and High Collar (you fold over)
Assymetrical Sleeves
Different Front and Back Body Pieces
1/4" Seam Allowance
1" Hem Allowance
No Trim Pages (18 total to assemble)

I have a dark green Banana Republic Turtleneck that I really love, but it is getting older and I was hoping that this would be a good replacement.  I had some mystery rib knit in my fabric closet and decided to try.  I made a long sleeved version with the high collar.  I think that this worked out well for not knowing the fabric content.  If you look at the hem you can see the fabric is a bit stretched out, because it doesn't have much recovery.  The pattern calls for fabric with 3-5% spandex, so if you use the right fabric you shouldn't have a problem.

I cut a size 8 that I blended out to a 10 for my waist and a 12 for my hips.  I've gotten much more relaxed about blending sizes and basically eyeball the  new line as I cut the fabric with my rotary cutter.  I do make sure that I blend the same way on the back piece that I do on the front.

I'm only 5'2" and the pattern is drafted for 5'5", so I probably should have removed length above the bust, but this fit pretty well without making any length adjustments.  I did have to add to the hem on my sleeves, so if you normally find sleeves short these have lots of length.

I recently ran my first half marathon in the cold and realized that I have lots of razorback tanks, but I really don't have any long sleeved running shirts.  (I live in Texas)  When I saw some of the tester's low collar versions I thought this would be perfect for running.  This is a size 8 blended to a 12 made with supplex.  I like the snug fit for running and look forward to wearing it out on a run when it is cold enough.  I'll go over my seams with my double needle to keep them from causing any chafing.
